Anderson Park
on Brown Road: Dedication

Amidst Campton's explosion of development, where is there land that belongs to all residents and that is dedicated to our entire community?

Several years ago, Campton's elected officials asked themselves the same question...

Former Supervisor Ed Malek and the Board of Trustees had a vision: to create a special place for Campton Township's citizens, a "Park for the People," a place where families could gather to play and enjoy the outdoors. That place is Anderson Park.

Overseen by the Campton Township Recreation and Parks Committee , the Park is truly a labor of love. The members of the committee did yeoman's work to bring the park from idea to reality; additionally, many organizations, Campton residents, and Campton elected officials volunteered their own time, money, and resources to the creation and building of the park. Thanks to them, Campton Township's Anderson Park on Brown Road is truly a public park, used and enjoyed by the entire community.

Today, volunteerism continues to shape the park. Each month, groups ranging from local Boy Scout chapters  to Campton Township elected officials to public service groups  donate their time and labor to help clean and maintain the park.  And each day, more Campton residents like you volunteer to help as park patrons and stewards.

Campton Township's Anderson Park on Brown Road. Amidst the rush of growth and development, we get to keep a piece of nature. And thanks to former Supervisor Ed Malek, the Board, and all those who have contributed so much, a future of change for our community will always include "a park for the people."

Note: In 2007, the original Campton Community Park was renamed Anderson Park. The Town Board adopted the new name in honor of the late Robert Anderson, long-time Campton resident, former Township Supervisor, and former Township Assessor.
